Greetings all -- I'm hard at work finishing up issue #2 of "The Roberts". "The Roberts" is two-issue comics mini-series published by Image/Shadowline. Each issue is 48 pages toned in glorious black and white with full color covers. The linework for each cover was drawn in human blood -- yep you read that right -- human blood supplied by author Wayne Chinsang and myself. Issue one hits the stands August 2008 -- issue 2 in September. Please call your local comic shop to make sure they're ordering the series. Here's a little about the mini-series: "The Roberts" is a story about two old men who become friends in a retirement community. They soon realize that they have something in common: They're both notorious serial killers who have managed to evade capture. Robert Kenneth Sprunger is the Boston Strangler. Robert Joseph Steib is the Zodiac Killer. They talk about their heroes, their favorite kills, and make a bet to see who can still get away with murder. "The Roberts" is written by Wayne Chinsang ("Heaven, LLC," "Bad Ideas") and illustrated by Erik Rose. You can read the first ten pages and see some other pages of preview art by clicking here. I'm real proud of this sucker so let me know what you think.

Hey everyone
-- lots to talk about. I've been hard at work on a pitch
for an ongoing series with writer Travis R. Chance called
...the know
if you click the link above you can download a 10 page preview
written by Travis and drawn/colored/lettered by yours truly.
You can also click here to visit
the ...the know mini site where you can see all
the pages from the pitch in black and white and in color
without the words as well as a little description of the
overall series.
Travis
will be at Comic Con International in San Diego July 25th-29
at Tara
McPherson's booth pitching our series. I will have a
table set up in Artist's Alley Aug. 9th - 12th at the Wizard
World Chicago Convention so stop on by booth #4612 where
I'll be selling originals, doing commissions, and talking
about this cool new series. I will also have a Wizard World
Chicago only sketchbook for sale and the
only place you can get it is at this convention. So I hope
to see you all there. Cheers.
01.28.07 - Update
First of all let me apologize up front
for taking so long to update this site. I know I hate going
to sites to find out they haven't updated for 8 months so
sorry about that. I could give you some excuses like I moved,
I got married, I haven't been able to put up a lot of the
work I've been doing on the site (it's all kind of hush
hush right now) and while those things are true there really
is no excuse. So, to try to make it up to you I'll tell
you what kinds of goodies I've added for your viewing and
purchasing pleasure: First off 6 new pieces in the gallery.
Including 3 Big Lebowski promo pieces that are also available
as full-color, high-quality, super glossy, 11" x 14" prints
on the sale
page. The original Dude, Walter, and Maude pen and ink drawings
that the prints were created from are also for sale.
Three new sketches,
three new Vanitas comics,
and a whole lot more are waiting for you inside. Also after
many requests I have decided to do a limited run of the
Damien
Echols print with 60% of the sales going to the West
Memphis Legal Defense fund. Thanks -- see you soon!
05.20.06 - Update
If you are in the Milwaukee area I provided the cover for
the May 18th issue of mke -- a great weekly newspaper
available city-wide. If you don't live in town click on
the mke
link to read my profile and see the artwork.
I have just updated the Sale
page with a PayPal shopping cart. Now it is easier than
ever to buy anything you want from the site. Simply use
the "add to cart" button to put the item into your shopping
cart and when finished click the "view cart" button and
check out from there.
I have added several pieces to the
sale
section but as always if there is something you're interested
in send me an e-mail
and I'll let you know if it's avalible.
If you haven't had a chance to stop
over to Dwellephant's
site in a while (if so why not!?!) make sure you do
-- he's started a dwell-step
program where you can subscribe to get a new piece of
art every month. It's great and more useful than a book-of-the-month
club -- that's for sure. What better way to show someone
you care. Or if you just want the goods all for yourself
go ahead, sign up -- you know you deserve it. Find out more
here.
I have heard that the Damien Echols
event in San Francisco last week did very well -- raising
somewhere in the neighborhood of $15K for the West
Memphis Three's legal defense. I am very humbled and
honored to have been able to help out even in such a small
way.
05.07.06 - Update
As many of you avid Tastes
Like Chicken readers know we did an interview with West
Memphis 3's Damien Echols who is currently on death row
for crimes he did not commit. On May 12th @ 111 Minna Gallery
in San Francisco there is a gallary
show to benefit Damien and it will also be the
first gallery show of Damien's own art. The illustration
I did for the Echol's interview will be auctioned off with
all the proceeds going to the West Memphis 3's legal defense
fund. If you are in the area please, please, please
do what you can to attend the show. The gallery opens at
12 noon the reception is from 6PM to 2AM -- Henry
Rollins, Jello Biafra, Jonathan Richman, Matt Gonzalez,
Penelope Houston and Jacob Pitts will be speaking and reading
Damien Echols' poetry. Reception admission is a
$15 minimum donation. Advanced tickets will be available
via TicketWeb (www.ticketweb.com) You can search "111 Minna"
or "Skeleton Key" for the event. Here's the address of the
gallery: 111 Minna Street, SF (@ New Montgomery & 2nd Streets)
Phone: 415-974-1719
If you cannot attend the event please
do whatever you can to help These guys out and as always
you can find more information on their case here.
In other news the fine folks over
at Ten
Sticks have put up an interview that we did a little
while back. It should answer all the questions you've ever
had about why I do what I do. If for some reason it doesn't
there is also a feature from my hometown newspaper -- The
Bryan Times on the press
page. Oh, and did I mention 3 new pieces in the Gallery?
Check it out!

3.13.05 - Update
A little bit of restructuring on the site as well as a few
new pieces. If you click on the 'portfolio' button you can
see that I've added a comics section. This includes all
the Vanitas strips in their original format with quotes
included, before many of illustrations were posted but not
the full strip, so here they are -- now all in one place.
There is also an Archive section where I have put my work
from 2001-2003 to clear up some space in the main gallery
section. So go explore -- have a look around and tell me
what you think.
2.22.05 - Update
R.I.P. H.S.T.
2.15.05 - Update

an upcoming Troma film called Actium Maximus and a ton of
other goodies. Also make sure you check out the sketch
section as I just added 3 new pieces there as well -- that

feel tired.
If you want to e-mail the Valentines;
click on the thumbnail to launch it into it's own window,
right click and select "e-mail picture" and send - viola!
Your new sweetie will be swept off his or her feet for sure.

Heaven

new tastes like chicken magazine is available

while they last.
4.18.04 - Update
Just a quick note to tell you about
a couple things. First off Heaven
LLC comes out this week at finer comic shops and book
stores. I have a pin up in there but you'll want to get
it just because the story is so wild and out there. And
you'll notice a new version of my Poe illustration in
the gallery -- this one was
colored by Ben
Templesmith (30 Days of Night). Thanks to Ben for
taking the time. I'll have some new work up for you by
the end of the week. Take care.
4.6.04 - Update
Loads of new work up for you. There
are 9 in the gallery and I
finally added 6 new ones to the sketches
section. I have also added a section of work for
sale including prints, comics, and originals. If you
see something you're interested in that's not on the For
Sale page just send me an e-mail.
You can get prints of almost any piece on the site and
I am open to doing commissions of your favorite characters/celebrities.
Drop me a line and let me know what you need.
I will also be showing some work with Dave
Crosland and some other fine folks from the book HEAVEN

Bid quick, bid early because this is the only chance you'll
get to own these originals! Good luck.
2.2.04 - Update
Well, if the first month is any
indication 2004 is going to be one busy year. I've been
helping out my good friend Dave
Crosland with the graphic novel he's been illustrating.
It's called Heaven LLC and it's coming out through Image.
It's the brainchild of tastes
like chicken's warped editor (Insane) Wayne Chinsang.
You can see the pin-up I did for the book in the gallery
section. Make sure you get your greasy little paws on
a copy before all the religious freaks out there start
a bonfire with them. I've got some other projects in the
works including a short story for an anthology with Mr.
Chinsang, a few other little things here and there and
I am gearing up to do my own graphic novel for completion
in early-mid summer.
I've really been enjoying doing some commissions for some
fans so if you're interested in having me do some work
for you just drop me
a line.
All right, enough of my yapping get on over to the gallery
section because I've got 12 new pieces for you over there
and any one of them is available as a high-quality print
just email me for
details.
12.29.03 - Update

10.06.03 - Update
Holy crap! Nine, that's right 9
new pieces in the gallery as
well as a couple new sketches
means it's been a pretty busy month and it looks like
October should be about the same. Among the new stuff
this month you'll find some work I did for a superhero
role playing game for Studio Ronin. I'll keep you all
updated on when that will be out and where you can get
it. Also some work for tastes
like chicken done by Night Watchman appeared mysteriously
on my doorstep (that dude is just creepy). Plenty of stuff
to keep you busy until the next update - until then take
it easy.
9.15.03 - Update

note to let you know about some cool stuff that's going
on. First of all Puffed #2 from Image is out on the shelves
of comic book shops everywhere. It features a pin-up by
me - so buy 100,000 copies!!! It was written by John Layman
and illustrated by Dave

8.14.03 - Update
Well, the move to WI is over, the
Chicago Comic Con has folded its tent, and things are
finally settling down here at the new house.
I just wanted to take a couple seconds to say thanks to
all the great people I met at the convention: Christopher
Shy, John Layman, Farel Dalrymple, Helen Popinchalk, Chris
Kirby, Jose Garibaldi, Corey Barba, Hart Fisher, Bill
Sienkiewicz, and of course the great Jim Mahfood (who's
even cooler than you'd think).
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the table and bought
prints, sketches, and the mini comic VANITAS. I
Still have about a dozen copies of the book which is a
20 page collection of short stories I've illustrated
and a three page comic. If you're interested
in getting a copy while I still have some just send $3
to the address on my contact
page and I'll send one right out to you.

section and more to come soon so check back in a couple
weeks!
